12 Pizza Hut restaurants in Romania closed

Sphera Franchise Group (SFG), the company that operates the KFC, Pizza Hut, Pizza Hut Delivery and Taco Bell chains in Romania, has closed 12 Pizza Hut restaurants on the local market.

The company previously expected to close 13 Pizza Hut restaurants, with KFC’s Piața Romană unit temporarily suspending operations. However, the company still has, in Bucharest, 18 restaurants with delivery and pick-up, including 11 with indoor service.

Sphera’s total assets as of December 31, 2023 were 698.26 million lei, down 1.08% compared to 705.88 million lei at the end of last year. In the same period, total debts were reduced by 5.34%, to 558.01 million lei, from 589.52 million lei. At the last price on the stock exchange, of 26.40 lei/share, the company’s market capitalization amounts to 1.02 billion lei (206.03 million euros).
