ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Those wanting to hear the bagpipes and delve into the Celtic culture are getting the chance to do so this weekend.
The 36th annual Rio Grande Valley Celtic Festival and Highland Games is taking place this weekend at Balloon Fiesta Park.
The festival celebrates the clans from Ireland, Scotland, and Wales to name a few. At the event, cultural food, music, and history are shared.
Organizers of the event said many Americans are a part of the Celtic heritage, adding that their ancestors once occupied most of Europe but were driven out by other groups.
The festivities are open on Sunday starting at 9 a.m.
