Longtime collaborators Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett are teaming up once again for Onslaught, an upcoming action film from A24.
Alongside co-writing the project with Barrett, Wingard is also set to direct the film. Currently, no release or casting information on Onslaught is available as of yet, although A24 did say that principal photography will begin later this year in the fall.
Wingard and Barrett have a long history of working together, with Barrett having writing credits on nearly all of Wingard’s projects as a filmmaker, dating back to his 2010 film A Horrible Way to Die.
Most notably, the pair have collaborated on films including You’re Next, The Guest, and most recently Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
A24 has several movies planned for 2024 releases
As for A24, the studio just released the Alex Garland film Civil War, starring Kirsten Dunst, Cailee Spaeny, and Wagner Moura. Up next is the Jane Schoenbrun psychological horror film I Saw The TV Glow, which releases on May 3, 2024.
Later in the year, A24 is also set to release high-profile films such as MaXXXine, the third entry in the “X” series of films from Ti West, starring Mia Goth. Aaron Schimberg’s A Different Man, starring Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve, is also set to release on September 13, 2024.
