Albuquerque man accused of 3 murders and a kidnapping will stay behind bars

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man who police say is connected to three murder cases will remain behind bars. Gabriel Valenzuela-Greene pled not guilty to 12 charges including three counts of first-degree murder.

Why do Albuquerque police think a 2015 murder case is connected to a recent killing?

According to court documents, on March 4, Valenzuela-Greene shot Jacob Rivera in an alleyway near Central and Indiana. He’s charged with killing Donte Barnes in the Twisters parking lot on Menaul on March 13. The same, police say he killed Lawrence Zamora near Pennsylvania St.

Judge Brett Loveless ruled the community could be in danger if Valenzuela-Greene was released placing him under pretrial detention. Valenzuela-Greene was also in front of Judge Stanley Whitaker in a kidnapping case where he’s accused of holding a woman and her boyfriend against their will for three days. Judge Whitaker also granted pretrial detention.
