Albuquerque police to release details on recent officer-involved shooting

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department is set to hold a news conference Friday at 10 a.m. to release details on a recent officer-involved shooting.

On March 30, 2024 APD said officers were called to the 700 block of 59th St., between Fortuna Rd. and Glenorio Rd. over reports there was an armed person in front of a home making threats. When officers arrived on scene the suspects got into a car and fled. Police say at least two officers fired their weapons during this time.

APD later tracked the suspects to a Walmart on Coors and I-40. One person fled, but officers were able to take one person into custody. Police say there were no injuries and at least one firearm was involved.
