Thursday morning is milder and mostly clear. Strong winds are moving across northeast New Mexico, at around 30 to 50 mph, along and behind a cold front. The northeast highlands and northern mountains will stay breezy, with gusts up to 40 mph this afternoon in the high terrain.

The rest of the state will stay fairly calm, with winds up to around 25 mph from the west. Temperatures will be cooler by 10 to 20 degrees in northeast NM, behind the cold front. However, the rest of the state will see even warmer temperatures than Wednesday, climbing back into the 70s and 80s.
The cold front will cool temperatures across the rest of eastern NM on Friday, and bring in more clouds. Meanwhile, the rest of the state will stay warm. More areas will cool down on Saturday, and rain chances will increase for the east and Rio Grande Valley.
