Moviegoers who see the new movie The Fall Guy, starring Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling, might hear a familiar voice as the film’s final credits roll.

Country singer Blake Shelton has recorded a version of “Unknown Stuntman,” which also appears on the film’s soundtrack. The film is loosely based on the television series The Fall Guy, which aired from 1981-1986, and centered on a stuntman who also served as a bounty hunter. “Unknown Stuntman” was used as the theme song for the television series, with actor Lee Majors singing the song in the series.

The movie focuses on a stuntman who needs to find the missing star who is part of his ex-lover’s hit film. Oklahoma native Shelton and Gwen Stefani recently attended the movie’s premiere in Hollywood.

On the red carpet, Shelton told Entertainment Tonight, “I probably loved the song even more than I knew the TV show. It’s like a bucket-list thing for me. I didn’t even know who was in the movie or anything. I just said, ‘I wanna do the song.’”

A video was posted on both Shelton’s Instagram as well as the movie’s Instagram account showing footage of the film and featuring Shelton’s performance of the song.

The Fall Guy comes out Friday.

Shelton, of course, is no stranger to film and television, having previously served as a coach on The Voice for more than a decade. He also starred in the TV series Barmageddon and appeared in Malibu Country, The Ridiculous 6 and American Dreams, among other film/TV projects.
