Citi appoints Gabriel Apostol as Head of Global Network Banking for Romania

Citi announced the appointment of Gabriel Apostol as Head of Global Network Banking for Romania. In this role, Gabriel Apostol will lead the growth of Citi’s business serving large and mid-sized multinational companies operating in Romania. He is a member of the country management committee of Citi Romania, supporting the execution of Citi’s overall business strategy.

In line with Citi’s strategy of being the preeminent banking partner for institutions with cross-border needs, the Global Network Banking business serves the needs of clients with global ambitions, who are looking to access new markets and grow. The Global Network Banking team works with clients across a wide variety of industries, supporting them with the bank’s full suite of products, including cash management, trade solutions or lending.

Gabriel Apostol has more than 27 years’ experience in the banking sector, with the last 20 being spent at Citi in various corporate banking roles, most recently as a Senior Banker for a portfolio of multinational clients. Previously, he was a Regional Commercial Director at BRD – Groupe Société Générale, after having covered multiple roles in credit and relationship management.
