Dacian Cioloş opens the REPER list for the European Parliament
On Monday, the REPER party announced its list of candidates for the June 9 European Parliament elections, with a team that includes current MEPs such as Dacian Cioloş, Ramona Strugariu and Dragoş Pîslaru, the current deputies Andrei Lupu and Oana Cambera and Simina Tulbure, as well as the physicist Cristian Presură or the Cluj university professor Ciprian Mihali.
Dacian Cioloș announced that he will open the list of the REPER party, which is participating in the elections for the first time.
“We have the ambition to overturn all the electoral calculations that others make. We believe that any party, no matter how merged, any political cartel, such as the one between PSD and PNL, any extremist party like AUR can be voted down by the citizens. Maybe we are not rated with great chances today, but we are determined to work as much as it takes to convince the citizens that we have the best team that represents Romania in the EU. The best survey is the result of the vote”, said Dacian Cioloş, according to a press release.
For her part, the co-president of REPER, Ramona Strugariu, said that the party has “the best European team in Romania”, and the list of candidates respects gender parity and youth quotas. “We are the first party in Romania whose lists include equally women and men, very competent people, and which has three candidates under 35 in the first 10 positions. Also in the top 10 we have a renowned researcher, physicist Cristian Presură, and an exceptional Romanian intellectual and diplomat, professor Ciprian Mihali”, Ramona Strugariu said.4
“We offer you a team of professionals who know what they are doing and are not afraid of work. We enter these elections with honesty and courage and we believe that we will overcome any threshold, even with the obstacles that Ciolacu puts up for us every day: mergers, the dispossession of delegates in the wards and many others. The REPER team proposes professionals for Romania and not amateurs. Together with Dacian Cioloș and Ramona Strugariu, we demonstrated in our mandates as MEPs that we made Romania respected at the European level, we managed to be spearheads in the most important negotiations of the European Union and to demonstrate that we are the best team that represented Romania since joining the EU”, said in his turn Dragos Pislaru, REPER co-chairman.
