Emma Group expands its Romanian operations into oil and gas production
The Competition Council authorized the transaction by which Emma Lambda Limited, Cyprus, part of the Czech Emma group, takes over Stratum Energy Romania LLC, USA, with its branches and subsidiaries. Thus, the Emma group, which owns a large part of the supply of gas and electricity in Romania, expands its business in the area of gas production.
Emma Lambda is part of the Emma Group, active in the energy sector, the gambling sector, the medical services sector, the pharmaceutical sector, digital commercial services, etc., in countries such as Cyprus, the Czech Republic, the Republic of Moldova, Serbia or Hungary.
Stratum Energy Romania LLC is a natural gas producer that operates the Poduri gas and crude oil perimeter, delimited by the Moinești EV-1 concession, in Bacău county. Following the analysis, the Competition Council found that this operation does not raise significant obstacles to effective competition on the Romanian market or on a substantial part of it and that there are no serious doubts regarding its compatibility with a normal competitive environment.
In Romania, the Emma Group controls a number of companies that carry out activities in the supply and distribution of natural gas, production, supply and distribution of electricity and production of energy from renewable sources (wind and solar).
Through Emma Capital, the Emma group owns Premier Energy, which grew on the Romanian energy market by taking over several suppliers and distributors.
Thus, through several acquisitions and mergers, the Emma Capital investment fund of the Czech Jiri Smejc has become a very important player on the gas market in Romania and the Republic of Moldova, currently being one of the largest suppliers.

Premier Energy has just completed the takeover of CEZ Vânzare and announced the listing on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
