Event Concert in Bucharest: Music in Dali’s World

After a sold-out performance, held for the first time for art lovers, at the end of March, the artists of the Bucharest National Opera, Mihaela Maria Ișpan (mezzo-soprano), Mladen Spasinovici (cello) and Ethan Schmeisser (piano and musical direction) return to ARCUB – Gabroveni Inn to recreate the magical atmosphere of the concert-event „Music in Dalí’s World,” Saturday, April 27, from 20:00, as Visit Bucharest reports.

Guided by classical music in every room of the Gabroveni Inn that hosts the impressive exhibition „The Universe of Salvador Dalí,” the public is accompanied by the evocative sounds that complete the actual sensory experience offered by the uniqueness of the works by exploiting the exceptional acoustics of the exhibition spaces and by the synesthesia of colours and sounds.

The musical circuit along the exhibition route closes with the second part of the concert, held for 40 minutes in the Great Hall, where visitors become spectators of an authentic concert. With a carefully selected repertoire, the protagonists of the concert, Mihaela Maria Ișpan, Mladen Spasinovici and Ethan Schmeisser, will perform pieces designed to highlight various aspects of the life and career of the artist Salvador Dalí.

In addition to the memorable pieces performed by the well-known artists of the Bucharest National Opera, who will give life to songs such as „Song of the Birds” and „A Ballad for a Madman,” the concert also brings to the fore evocative compositions, including the surreal adventure played in „Nous avons fait la Nuit” by Poulenc and the atmosphere of the unique dream created by Dalí in „Spellbound,” directed by Alfred Hitchcock. The concert program features a musical selection that captures the complex essence of Dalí – a captivating amalgam of madness, inventiveness and passion.

Since the exhibition’s opening, more than 50,000 art lovers have crossed the threshold of the Gabroveni Inn to discover the beauty of the genuine works signed by the artist Salvador Dalí.

As a result of the heightened interest shown by the public, the concert event „Music in Dalí’s World” scheduled at ARCUB – Hanul Gabroveni on Saturday, April 27, at 8:00 p.m., is an excellent opportunity for the public of all ages to admire the 170 authentic Salvador Dalí works and to be carried away not only in his art and the mysteries of his life, but also through traditional music linked to the poetic research of Federico García Lorca and Manuel de Falla, close friends of Dalí, all in close connection with Catalonia, his native country, and Spanish culture itself.
