Extraordinary You is a 2019 South Korean drama starring Kim Hye-Yoon and Rowoon in lead roles. The series tells the story of a high school girl who realizes she is a supporting character in a comic and decides to change her story.
In the previous episode, the writer changed the story set-up, which made Dan-Oh (Hye-Yoon) forget Ha-Ru (Rowoon). Her fiancé Baek Kyung (Lee Jae-Wook) helped Ha-Ru get back together with Dan-Oh when he learned the truth about the comic world he was in. Towards the end, Dan-Oh’s memories come back.
Extraordinary You finale begins with Ha-Ru and Dan-Oh becoming an official couple. However, Ha-Ru has hidden the truth that the writer has already started to erase the current story set-up. This means the extra character like Ha-Ru will be erased. Despite heartbreaks and separations, the lead characters get their happy ending in the final episode.

In Extraordinary You episode 16, Ha-Ru (Rowoon) learns in the beginning that the comic writer has started erasing the story. He realizes that extra characters are disappearing one by one and that he will soon vanish. It appears the writer intends to punish Ha-Ru for interrupting his set stage where he tried to overshadow the main character, Baek Kyung (Lee Jae-Wook).
Dan-Oh (Kim Hye-Yoon) is still unaware that Ha-Ru will soon disappear. He begins to do things that Dan-Oh mentioned on her bucket list. From writing letters to wearing matching things, the couple enjoys their lovey-dovey moments. Meanwhile, Oh Nam-Joo and Yeo Joo-Da become closer. Baek Kyung, too, makes amends with Ha-Ru and Dan-Oh.
While everything looks positive, things begin to turn darker in Ha-Ru’s life. One day, Dan-Oh bends to tie her shoelaces and sees that Ha-Ru has disappeared. Suddenly, the story setting changes, and she appears in her classroom. During the set-up, she notices Ha-Ru in his seat, but when the setting drops, he disappears again. Worried, Dan-Oh rushes to look for him and finds him in the library.
When they meet, Ha-Ru notices the writer is set to erase his character. The couple runs through the corridors to avoid their fate but fails. They bid an emotional goodbye before Ha-Ru disappears for good, leaving her heartbroken. A few days later, the class graduates.
While reminiscing her moments with Ha-Ru at their place under a big tree, Dan-Oh finds a diary. In it, Ha-Ru has drawn their story. As Dan-Oh thanks Ha-Ru for being her fate, she hears the sound of the writer erasing the current story.
Extraordinary You ending: Did Kim Hye-Yoon & Rowoon end up together?
Towards the Extraordinary You ending, the writer has opened a new story. In it, Dan-Oh (Kim Hye-Yoon), a university student, appears to be one of the extra characters in the writer’s comic. She looks gloomy all day without any friends.
While wandering around her college, she comes across a sketch. It is the sketch of her and Ha-Ru (Rowoon) under the big tree from his diary from the previous story. She finds it familiar and tries to search for the tree. After spending some time under the tree, Dan-Oh walks away from that place. She hears from her classmate that the tree turns 300 on October 10, which is the current date.
Suddenly, Dan-Oh recalls that she had promised someone they would meet under that tree on October 10. She rushes back to that place to look for the person she is supposed to meet. Ha-Ru appears in front of her, and she recognizes him. When she calls his name, he doesn’t respond, making her assume he doesn’t remember. She turns around and begins to walk away when he calls her name.
K-drama Extraordinary You ends with the lovebirds hugging each other and ending up together again in the writer’s new story.
