Gallup firefighter accused of downloading child pornography at work

GALLUP, N.M. (KRQE) – KRQE News 13 has learned that the Gallup firefighter who’s facing charges of downloading child pornography is accused of doing so while at work. Andres Garcia, 31, is accused of downloading the child pornography during his shift at the Gallup Fire Department. The McKinley County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that only authorized employees can use the fire department’s WI-FI.


After conviction in New Mexico, a Mexican national sentenced in Texas

On Friday, a search warrant was conducted on Garcia’s phone where police found the video. He was arrested later that day. Garcia is facing charges of child sexual abuse material including exploitation of children under the age of 13. A hearing has not yet been scheduled.
