Beginning April 3 through April 21, Gary police officers will be participating in a cellphone enforcement blitz to reduce distracted driving. There will be additional officers on the streets focusing on drivers distracted by their cell phones, said Cmdr. Dawn Westerfield in a release.
This enforcement is made possible through funds from the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute Traffic Safety Division, she said.
