Gwen Stefani has spoken about No Doubt‘s plans after their upcoming reunion shows at Coachella 2024, and whether new music could be on the horizon.

The band are due to play their first live gig since 2015 at the California festival this Saturday (April 13). Stefani and co. will perform on the main stage at 9:25pm between sets by Blur and headliner Tyler, The Creator.
No Doubt are scheduled to return to the desert for the event’s second weekend, but no further dates have been confirmed as of yet.
During a new cover interview with Nylon, Stefani said she was “open to anything”, but the publication noted that there were currently “no concrete plans for touring or new music”.
“Well, I don’t have a crystal ball,” the frontwoman continued. “Most things have surprised me in life. One of the things I’ve learned is to be present in the moment and try to absorb what’s happening around me instead of looking ahead.”
Stefani added: “[Coachella is] going to be a really nice bow to tie on the relationship, because we were kids [when we met].
“I already know what it’s going to feel like because we’re just so in sync when we’re onstage. It’s going to feel like riding a bike again. We’re going to be laughing, and we’re going to look at each other and go, ‘Oh my gosh — there you are’.”
The singer said No Doubt’s live comeback had been “a long time coming”, explaining: “It’s been something that we were going to do.”
However, Stefani told the outlet that making new music with the band would mean “leaving [her] family”.
She continued: “And if I didn’t come home with a song, I’d be like, ‘Oh my God, I’m such a loser – I didn’t have dinner with my family, and I didn’t write a song. I wasted an entire day of my life trying to be in No Doubt again’.”
Stefani opened up about how having two children had affected No Doubt’s later years. “There was nothing left in me,” she said. “I had no ideas. I had so much insecurity. I felt like – help!”
The group’s latest album was 2012’s ‘Push And Shove’, which itself marked their first full-length release since 2001’s ‘Rock Steady’.
Last month, No Doubt shared some behind-the-scenes footage of themselves in rehearsals for Coachella 2024.
Speaking about No Doubt’s imminent comeback in January, Stefani explained: “It just happened so fast, and that’s my favourite kind of thing to happen. And I think really just watching the internet blow up [with] how excited that the fans are? It’s inspiring us.”
She continued: “It’s just going to be cool. It’s just going to be: Get up there and do what we always do, which is play our music and try to connect and be so grateful that we got this amazing career that we never expected to have.”
