KRQE Cares positively impacts families with children in Title I schools

For over a decade now, KRQE Cares has been positively impacting the lives of kids in Title I schools. Through the program, children are getting their basic needs met with food, shoes, and books, allowing them to focus a little more on getting an education and allowing their caretakers to direct their money toward other essential payments.

Through KRQE Cares’ Shoes for Kids program, KRQE works with the Assistance League of Albuquerque to help out one selected Title I school at a time, supporting each child in the school with a new pair of shoes. Along with new shoes, children are given a snack, book, dental supplies, socks, and one-on-one interactions with caring community members.

Thanks to the generous contributions of community members and sponsors, KRQE Cares’ program, Shoes for Kids, has provided over 29,000 pairs of shoes to students at Title I schools in Albuquerque. The work that KRQE Cares does would not be possible without the contributions and support from sponsors and community members.

KRQE Cares works with the Assistance League of Albuquerque to get shoes directly to children in need. If you would like to donate to the local effort online, click the link below.
