[1] Albuquerque family in search of vehicle that killed their daughter in hit-and-run – An Albuquerque family is still looking for answers months after police said their daughter was killed in a hit-and-run last year. Police say Krystal Miller was walking on Pennsylvania St. near Mountain Rd. on August 7, 2023, when she was hit by a vehicle. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said a witness saw a dark-colored sedan leave the area after the collision happened. Months later, there’s still no lead suspect in the case. The family is asking anyone with information on the incident is asked to come forward.

[2] Rio Rancho animal rescue looks to rehome dogs after owner’s murder – After a Rio Rancho man is accused of shooting and killing his wife, loved ones are coming together to help the victim’s four dogs. The Milagro Boston Terrier Rescue said they’re hoping to honor Roberta Valdez by finding a permanent home for the dogs. The four dogs, Buddy, Daisy, Copper and Tigger are between the ages of three and eight. One of the dogs has already been rehomed, but the shelter said they’re hoping to keep the other three dogs together. The rescue will be helping cover the dogs’ medical expenses in her honor. 

[3] Chilly, wet and windy Monday around New Mexico – Snow is moving into the higher terrain of western, central and northern New Mexico. Scattered rain and mountain snow will continue across all of New Mexico throughout the mid-late morning through tonight. Roads will become snow covered and slick tonight through Tuesday morning, especially in the Raton area and northeast highlands. Temperatures will stay chilly today as a cold front moves through New Mexico.

[4] Albuquerque bowler wins PBA Major Title – Albuquerque’s DeeRonn Booker won this years USBC Masters, which is 1 of 5 events considered to be major events in bowling. Booker is the Manager at Santa Ana Star Casinos Starlight Bowling Center. The 33-year old was undefeated in the tournament. Booker knocked out 4 PBA Tour Champions on his path to the title. With this win Booker is the 3rd African American to win a PBA Tour title.

[5] Bank on Burque program – The city of Albuquerque is kicking off financial empowerment month by giving smart banking tips. The Bank on Burque program seeks to connect unbanked residents to safe and affordable banking options. Bank on Buque has helped people get access to secure safe bank accounts since it launched in 2021.
