It’s good news for UK cinemagoers who want to see Ti West’s latest horror movie at the same time as the US, as the MaXXXine UK release date has been brought forward.
MaXXXine UK Release Date
The UK had to wait six months after the US for West’s previous film in his trilogy, Pearl, and before this change, MaXXXine was set to be released in the UK on August 9, 2024, while the US were due to get the film on July 5, 2024.
Now the MaXXXine UK release date is aligned with the US, bringing the seedy slasher adventures of Mia Goth’s Maxine Minx a month earlier than expected for the UK and Ireland.
MaxXxine takes place in 1985 with Mia Goth reprising her role of Maxine Minx from X. It picks up six years after the farmstead massacre of X. Maxine is now residing in LA and still striving to become a star in the acting world. But her chances are hampered by the fact people keep dying around her.
MaxXxine also stars musician Halsey, horror stalwart Kevin Bacon, Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang’s Michelle Monaghan, and Lilly Collins (Okja). It also stars Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Bobby Cannavale, and Giancarlo Esposito.
While this is supposed to end a trilogy that started with X and Pearl, Ti West has stated he has an idea for a fourth film, saying, “There is this one weird idea that I have that is kind of… if I explained it, it would make sense,” West said. “But we’ll see what happens. Let’s get this movie done first, see if people like it. Then we’ll go from there.”
