Missing Crown Prince episodes 7 and 8 aired on Saturday and Sunday on MBN. Starring EXO’s Suho and Hong Ye-Ji, the historical romance K-drama currently focuses on Crown Prince Lee Gon escaping the kingdom.

In the previous episode, Lee Gon (Suho) escaped the palace’s prison with the help of his stepbrother, Grand Prince Do Sung (Kim Min-Kyu). The crown prince’s friend, Gab Seok, kidnapped Wol-Yi, Choi Myung-Yoon’s (Hong Ye-Ji) maid, assuming she was royal physician Choi Sang-Rok’s daughter. The final scene showed Lee Gon learning that Myung-Yoon was related to Sang-Rok’s house.

For context, none of the two lead characters are aware of each other’s true identities. In episode 7, Myung-Yoon, pretending to be Wol-Yi’s maid, convinces Lee Gon to let her accompany him. She, thus, helps the crown prince cross the town border without being caught.

Missing Crown Prince episode 7 begins with Myung-Yoon and Lee Gon’s encounter. He is shocked to learn that she is Sang-Rok’s daughter’s maid. Myung-Yoon offers to help Lee Gon escape the city, but he declines, worrying about her safety.

Eventually, she accompanies him, and they flee the town together. When Sang-Rok finds Myung-Yoon’s letter, he sends his guard to bring her back. Later, he learns that she has run away with the crown prince, leaving Sang-Rok in a panic. For context, he is determined to make his daughter the crown princess but doesn’t want Lee Gon to be her husband. Therefore, he conspired against Lee Gon and portrayed him as a traitor. Now, he plans to convince Grand Prince Do Sung to be the crown prince and marry Myung-Yoon.

On the other hand, Do Sung pretends to be Lee Gon’s enemy and doesn’t interfere in the kingdom’s decision to catch Lee Gon. But whenever the royal guards are about to attack the crown prince, Do Sung and his men, disguised as thugs, come to the rescue.

At the palace, Queen Dowager Min Soo-Ryun regrets turning into an evil person against her family. She finds Queen Yoon’s hatred for her painful. Meanwhile, Lee Gon and Myung-Yoon, along with their helpers Gab Seok and Wol-Yi, are on the run. They spend nights in a cave and a cold shelter, which affects Myung-Yoon’s health.

Towards the end, Lee Gon takes Myung-Yoon to a physician, who sends a word to the palace. The episode ends with the guards catching the pair at night.

Meanwhile, Sang-Rok proposes to delay the crown prince’s event, where the title will go to Do Sung. Sang-Rok fears that if anyone spots his daughter with Lee Gon, then his plans will be ruined. However, the idea of delay is not accepted, as Do Sung’s grandfather brings in a fake royal seal and demands to announce Do Sung as the crown prince.

The announcement brings Do Sung back to the palace, but he doesn’t return quietly. He misbehaves with Queen Dowager Min Soo-Ryun, harasses the royal teachers, and insults a religious community. Then, people send a petition to not give the title of the crown prince to him. For context, he plans to misbehave so that the title remains with his elder brother.
