The FANBOY 2 exhibition by the artist Saddo opens in Amzei Square in Bucharest. With appearances in publications such as The New Yorker and The Hollywood Reporter, Saddo has participated in numerous group exhibitions both locally and internationally in cities such as Copenhagen, New York, Berlin, Montreal, Ottawa, Salvador, Bangkok, Vienna, Mexico City, Oakland and Portland.

Presenting the artist Saddo’s most comprehensive series to date, the exhibition FANBOY 2 occupies Pieței Amzei and brings together a selection of works covering the last four years of artistic activity, including works from the debut exhibition, FANBOY, alongside sketches that have been at the base of all works, drawings, large-scale paintings, tapestries, sculptures and objects presented for the first time to the public.

The opening event of the FANBOY 2 exhibition will take place on April 4, 2024, between 18:00 and 22:00, at Piața Amzei no. 13 and will be hosted by MOBIUS GALLERY & THE INSTITUTE. It will be accompanied by a live music mix, curated by OUCH COLLECTIVE, in collaboration with the Black Rhino Radio pop-up.

Fandom – noun. the state or condition of being a fan of someone or something.
Fanboy is a project/exhibition like a kaleidoscope. It guides you to enter the story of current icons, characters from the rap world who started out as gamechangers and then became the kings and queens of the game. In a strong POP register, Saddo creates not only works on this theme but also an ambient. A plently that pays homage in an interdisciplinary way to entities and personal heroes that are responsible for his personal soundtrack. It’s something he really likes, this simple instinct at first glance, to create things and works on themes that just appeal to you. So, it can be said that the works (in various media) in this project also have the role of totems and objects of worship, not in the sense of magical connotations, but in the sense of a real and heartfelt fascination. (Extract from the curatorial text written by Lea Rasovszky).
The FANBOY 2 exhibition is open to the public until 28.04.2024 and can be visited from Wednesday to Saturday, between 16:00 and 20:00.
