Many anticipated Chinese dramas will be released this week (May 6 – 12, 2024) with entertaining episodes. From iQIYI’s Canneseries To the Wonder to Regeneration, Reblooming Blue, What If, etc., will premiere with appeasing storylines. These shows will fall under romance, documentary, thriller, and more genres.
Here is a list of C-dramas that are releasing new episodes this week:
1. Regeneration
This upcoming suspense C-drama will premiere on Youku and Netflix on May 6, 2024. It features Zhou Yi Ran and Jing Bo Ran in the main roles.
It is a suspense drama that tells the story of six strangers who have an uncanny connection. After meeting at a funeral, they find out that they know different versions of the deceased man. Thereafter, they decide to work together to untangle the complications and unveil his true identity.
2. To the Wonder
This documentary C-drama has been nominated by the Cannes International Series Festival as part of the competition. It is set to premiere on May 7, 2024.
It tells the story of Li Wen Xiu (Zhou Yiran), who returns to her hometown after facing obstacles in her career. Meanwhile, she gets acquainted with a Kazakh boy, and together, they embark on a journey to explore the beauty of nomadic life.
To the Wonder will be available for streaming iQIYI and CCTV-1.
3. Reblooming Blue
This romantic C-drama is set to release on May 8, 2024. It tells the story of Chen Xiao Man (Victoria Song), who returns to her hometown after losing her job. She initially dreamed of making it big and investing in her family business, but now struggles to get her career back on track.
Meanwhile, Ke Yan (Vic Zhou), Xiao Man’s superior at work, also visits the same town to seek guidance from an old acquaintance after facing a career setback. Thereafter, the two join hands, and under Ke Yan’s counsel, Xiao Man attempts to become an entrepreneur.
Reblooming Blue will be available for streaming on MGTV and Viki.
4. What If
This C-drama premieres on May 6, 2024. It follows the story of Xia Guo (Zhong Chu Xi) as she is in a huge dilemma. However, she can’t choose between continuing to live with her boyfriend in her hometown and moving out to become a career woman in the city.
Furthermore, Xia Guo finds an opportunity to escape her monotonous life and live in the city, but she feels guilty and struggles to decide.
All 20 episodes of What If will be available for streaming on Tencent Video.
Tencent Video’s popular C-drama Tender Light is scheduled to release its final episode on May 10, 2024, and iQIYI’s In the Name of the Brother will end its run on May 12, 2024. Meanwhile, The Love Duel will release its final episode on May 6, 2024.
Moreover, other than these dramas, Men in Love, Inverse Identity, Rise From the Ashes, Chu Wei Ren Miu Qing Zhu Yi, Young Babylon, Intern Cai Cai, Lady Revenger Returns from the Fire, The Demon Lord Is My Little Brother, etc. will continue with their weekly run.
