The month of May brings with it a lot of exciting new manga titles that are sure to keep readers entertained. With a wide variety of stories to choose from, there is something for everyone this month. In this list, we will be looking at the most-anticipated manga premiering in May 2024.
Hirayasumi

Shinzo Keigo’s highly anticipated manga is arriving on May 21. The manga follows the life of 29-year-old Hiroto Ikuta, who doesn’t have a lot going on for him despite his age. He pays no mind to people’s expectations and thoughts, as he is comfortable with his carefree, easygoing lifestyle. However, everything starts to change after he inherits a house from one of the old ladies in the neighborhood. Hiroto must now share the building with his 18-year-old cousin, Mutsumi, who dreams of studying art.
Mobsters in Love

Mobsters in Love is a romantic comedy about a clueless mob boss and his shy second-in-command. The story follows Akihiro Kashima, the second-in-command of the Sawatari mob, who has been hiding his affection for his boss for years and vowed to keep it a secret. However, as the second-in-command, he is often subjected to his boss’ signs of affection, which makes him even more confused. But with his position on the line, Akihiro must now find a way to hide his feelings while being a faithful subordinate. Chiyoko Origami will be releasing her highly anticipated manga on May 7.
She Likes Gays, But Not Me
Fans of the high-school romance genre will get a kick out of Naoto Asahara’s new manga. The story follows Jun Andō, a high schooler who hides the fact that he’s gay from everyone. One day, in class, he meets his classmate, Sae Miura, reading a BL novel and takes offense that it doesn’t depict the struggles they face. Jun promises to keep his secret from everyone, and the two grow closer together. The two start dating during Golden Week and learn more about each other’s lives. The manga is about a brighter tomorrow, as Jun and Miura’s story was nothing short of inspirational. This manga is releasing on May 21.
Monster Cats
Pandania, the creator of Yokai Cats and The Evil Secret Society of Cats, returns with another feline adventure story. The story takes place in a place where humans live with some supernatural feline crossbreeds. Pandania will release the manga on May 7.
NINJA VS. GOKUDO

The story takes place in a world where ninjas and yakuza have been embroiled in a war spanning multiple generations. It follows the lives of the ninja Shinoha and the yakuza member Kiwami, who fight in the name of their factions to determine who is superior. The popular manga written by Shinsuke Kondo will be released on May 14.
Sword Art Online Re: Aincrad
Reki Kawahara teams up with Mito Satou, abec, and Kimi to bring out Sword Art Online Re: Aincrad. The manga will revisit one of the series’ most stellar arcs, Aincrad. Additionally, the manga will also tell the side stories and fillers that were never adapted in the anime. The manga is expected to be released on May 14.
No Game, No Life Chapter 2 Eastern Union

Yuu Kamiya and Ryu Naitou’s famous manga returns with its second chapter on May 21. The story will continue Sora and Shiro’s journey after being summoned to another world. Now, the two of them have secured the future of the Elkia kingdom and humanity as a whole. However, the sibling duo has now set their sights on the Eastern Union and wants to conquer new races.
