Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF) announces the extension of the 2024 edition by one day compared to the dates originally communicated. TIFF will take place between June 14 – 24, thus including the day after Pentecost (June 24), declared a public holiday. This new day of TIFF will be dedicated to the retrospective of the most popular films from the festival, the award-winning films, but also some surprise events.
The biggest film festival in the country prepares, as every year, hundreds of screenings, dinner-concerts, special events and meetings with stars. More than 150,000 moviegoers are expected this year in Cluj-Napoca for the festival, in cinemas, but also in outdoor and alternative spaces. The number of participants has grown steadily in recent years, TIFF attracting an increasing number of Romanian and foreign tourists to Transylvania. According to a study carried out by the students of the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, over 70% of the non-resident participants visit Cluj for TIFF.
