One person found dead after fire in northeast Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to a fire Monday, April 8 in northeast Albuquerque that left one person dead.

Around 11:30 p.m. AFR was sent to Sellers Dr. NE, near Wyoming and I-40 for reports of a structure fire. When crews arrived on scene they reported a two story multifamily structure with smoke coming from the first floor. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within seven minutes.

AFR says one person was found dead and another person was injured while attempting to extinguish the fire. No firefighters were injured in the incident. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
