Park Ridge police: Car stolen outside of Lutheran General Hospital, two teens arrested for battery

The following items were taken from Park Ridge Police Department reports. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Motor Vehicle Theft

A victim left their 2010 Toyota Prius running with keys in the ignition in front of Lutheran General Hospital on March 15 at 1:53 a.m. at 1775 Dempster Street when an unknown male and an unknown female offender entered the vehicle and took off. Park Ridge police said the vehicle was located and recovered in Chicago on March 18.

An unknown offender stole a 2019 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 on March 15, between 1 a.m. and 9 a.m. on the 800 block of Greenwood Avenue. Police said the vehicle was located and recovered in Chicago.

Attempted motor vehicle theft

An unknown offender entered a 2020 Kia Rio and removed the steering column plastic in what appeared to be an attempted motor vehicle theft between 9:30 p.m. on March 19 and 9:30 p.m. on March 20 on the 100 block of Seminary Avenue. Police said the vehicle was parked on the street, and the victim was unsure as to whether it was locked.

Burglary from a motor vehicle

An unknown offender entered a locked BMW X7 and stole several items from it while it was parked on the 500 block of Wisner Street between 11:43 p.m. on March 15 and 12:07 a.m. on March 16.

An unknown offender entered an unlocked 2015 Honda Odyssey while parked on the 700 block of South Fairview Avenue on March 18 at approximately 2:46 a.m. Footage showed that the offender fled the scene in a white SUV.

An unknown man entered a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu parked at the FFC Park Ridge parking lot and stole several items on March 19 at 8:26 a.m. at 826 West Touhy Avenue.

An unknown offender broke the rear driver’s side window on a 2014 Ford F-150 pickup truck and took numerous items before fleeing from the scene on the 600 block of Higgins Road during the overnight hours of March 21.

Criminal damage to motor vehicle

A victim saw that an unknown offender had damaged the driver’s side window of their 2017 Toyota RAV 4. The victim found mirror segments on the driveway in front of their residence on the 300 block of South Fairview Avenue on March 17 at around 4:56 p.m.

Theft under $500

Three Lutheran General Hospital employees reported stolen or missing items taken from the hospital’s break room to Park Ridge police on March 17 around 1:30 a.m. The three employees placed their items in the breakroom around 7 p.m. on March 16. Police said the break room is secured through a numerical keypad system.

An unknown man was caught on a Ring surveillance camera stealing an Amazon package from a porch on the 1300 block of South Ashland Avenue on March 19 at 5:02 p.m.

Burglary

Three male subjects were seen forcibly entering a store at 137 North Northwest Highway on March 18 at approximately 4:34 a.m., exiting, and fleeing in a white sedan. Police said they did not know what had been taken.

Suspicious circumstances

An unknown male subject wearing a hooded sweatshirt followed a victim to their home and requested a hug and a kiss on March 19 around 5 p.m. on the 1800 block of Washington Avenue. A neighbor saw the interaction and yelled at the man, who fled.

Battery

A 16-year-old from Des Plaines was arrested for battery at 2601 West Dempster Street in Park Ridge on March 18 at 8 a.m.

A 16-year-old from Glenview was arrested for battery at 2601 West Dempster Street in Park Ridge on March 18 at 8:30 a.m.

A 30-year-old Chicago man was arrested on two counts of battery at 200 South Vine Avenue on March 22 at 1:44 p.m.

Domestic battery

A 34-year-old woman was arrested for domestic battery in a warrant arrest at 200 South Vine Avenue on March 20 at 12:56 p.m.

Suspended license

An 18-year-old individual from Harwood Heights was arrested for driving on a suspended license and the improper use of their turn signal at 1858 East Dempster Street in Des Plaines on March 18 at 1:58 p.m.

A 30-year-old Des Plaines woman was arrested for driving on a suspended license and having expired plates at the intersection of Algonquin Road and Oakton Street in Park Ridge on March 19 at 3 p.m.

A 48-year-old Chicago woman was arrested for driving on a suspended license, not wearing a seat belt and not having a seat belt on a child at the intersection of Touhy Avenue and Overhill Avenue on March 20 at 8:46 a.m.

A 24-year-old Racine man was arrested for driving on a suspended license at the intersection of Greenwood Avenue and Busse Highway on March 21 at 2:07 p.m.

Warrant

A 67-year-old man was arrested for deceptive practices and issued a warrant at 200 South Vine Avenue on March 18 at 2:55 p.m.

Unlawful possession of cannabis

A 25-year-old River Grove man was arrested for the unlawful possession of cannabis and for not having a front license plate at 1901 West Touhy Avenue on March 22 at 1:20 p.m.
