Prominent Meat Industry Player in Romania Enters Insolvency

Angst, a well-known player in the meat industry, went into insolvency. Periș Butchery and Primo Mix Food requested Angst insolvency on September 21, 2023, according to Retail.ro.

The decision to enter insolvency was taken on March 29, 2024, with the right of appeal within seven days from the communication of the decision by publication in the Bulletin of Insolvency Procedures, which will be submitted to the Ilfov Court.
“According to art. 406 Civil Procedure Code takes note of the waiver of judgment formulated by the creditor MONCEANU INOCASINGS SRL. Accepts the requests of creditors ABATORUL PERIS SA and PRIMO MIX FOOD SRL. Pursuant to art. 72 para. 6 of Law no. 85/2014, regarding insolvency prevention and insolvency procedures, opens the general insolvency procedure against the debtor ANGST RO SRL. It points out to the debtor that she is obliged to submit, within 10 days from the pronouncement of this decision, to the case file, the documents and information provided for in art. 67 para. 1 of Law no. 85/2014. If the debtor does not submit the documents and information shown, the provisions of art. 82 para. 1 and 2 and art. 169 para. 1 lit. d from Law no. 85/2014. If the debtor does not submit, within 10 days from the pronouncement of this decision, to the file, a statement expressing its intention to reorganize, pursuant to art. 85 para. 1 related to art. 74 and art. 67 para. 1 lit. g from Law no. 85/2014, the legal lifting of the right of administration is to be carried out – consisting in the right to conduct his activity, to administer his assets from the estate and to dispose of them, a situation in which the full management of the debtor’s activity rests with the administrator judicially”, says the Ilfov Court.
Angst group was known as one of the main players in the meat industry, led by Sorin Minea, who is also the president of Federatia Romalimenta, which brings together most of the associations and patronages in the food industry.
Sorin Minea, who owns the company together with Ludmila Minea, refused to comment on the information, telling Hotnews.ro that “these are personal issues that I do not discuss with the press!”.
In 2018 Angst took over the majority stake in the Sinaia dry-crude products plant, SALSI, holding 88 percent of the shares.
