Religion roundup:  Marriage conference, wine mixer, clergy night and music sale in the works

Palos Heights

Anchor Church, 6600 W. 127th St.: Date Night and Marriage Conference from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. April 20. The event begins with a meal for spouses, engaged couples and the church family. Learn from biblical teaching from Francis and Lisa Chan’s “You and Me Forever.” Participants will discuss what marriage is like in the light of eternity, learn how marriage was designed for God’s purpose and to make decisions for marriage based on faith. St. Terrence, 4300 W. 119th Place. St.: Terrence Food Pantry is offered from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. the second Monday each month. Donations of nonperishable food are accepted each week at St. Terrence. Jesus, Shepherd of Souls: 501 163rd St.: Clergy/Religious Night on April 12 at Kasey’s Banquet Hall, 17800 Lorenz Ave. in Lansing. Socialize from 6 to 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. New in-house chefs will serve a family style dinner and a cash bar will be available. Open to those 21 and older. Cost is $30 per person, and reservations are required by April 9 at 708-895-7720. It’s sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Lansing Council 3540. Information: 708-862-1568.

St. Patricia Catholic Church, 9050 S. 86th Ave.: Wine mixer April 13 in the parish center, 9000 S. 86th Ave. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with tasting available from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Sangria, wine, craft beer and spirits will be available, served in a souvenir tasting glass. Chuck’s Southern Comfort Cafe will provide heavy hors d’oeuvres, and soft drinks, coffee and water will be served. Raffles will be available, and Howl at the Moon will provide dueling piano entertainment. Tickets cost $65 for adults and $55 for seniors 65 and older. Only those 21 and older may participate. St. John Neumann Parish, 17951 Dixie Highway: Piecemakers prayer shawl ministry from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursdays. The group makes blankets to distribute to nursing homes, hospitals, to shut-ins, parishes in need and Catholic Charities. Oak Lawn

Pilgrim With United Church of Christ, 9411 S. 51st Ave.: Music sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 13. Fill a paper bag with music for $25. File cabinets also will be sold. Proceeds from the sale will go toward honorariums for guest musicians. Information: 708-422-4200.

Orland Park

Presbyterian Church in Orland Park, 13401 Wolf Road: Rummage sale donations will be accepted April 8 through April 17 for the church’s annual sale, which is noon to 5 p.m. April 19 and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 20. No TVs or computers will be accepted. Proceeds help support the church’s programs and services. Admission to the sale is free. Information: 708-448-8142.
