“I was just shocked, I stood there for a minute and looked and had to kind of get my mind around the fact that my car was actually gone,” said Hosmer.

Hosmer’s car was stolen right in front of her house in Santa Fe, with her dog Levi inside. “No cars ever drive by here, it’s not a throughway. I thought I was relatively safe,” said Hosmer.

Five frantic hours after her car and her pup were taken, she got a call that someone found Levi wandering four miles away, near Paseo Del Sol and Airport Road.

“I saw Levi running down the center lane with a leash on, It just didn’t look right to me. I stopped got off the road and he came right over. He’s a very sweet friendly dog” said Brad Gillette, who found Levi.

He looked at the tag and gave Colette a call to set up a happy reunion  “Thank you … I’ll never be able to replace him,” said Hosmer.

Her Honda CRV is a 2014 brownish-grey color with license plate number NZK688.
