Skies will be mostly clear in the majority of the state as the sun comes up. Only a few light showers will be possible this afternoon and early evening in the Sandia/Manzano and east mountains, the south-central mountains and the southwest and Gila mountains. Light snow showers will be possible at the higher peaks of the Sacramento Mountains. Showers will move southward, clearing this evening, and tonight will be dry.

Temperatures will be warmer than Monday, but still cooler than normal. Winds will lighten up across the state, but the northeast highlands could still see wind gusts as high as 50 mph, prompting wind advisories from 8 AM to 3 PM in Colfax and Union counties. The far east plains could see 25 to 40 mph wind gusts. The rest of the state will see 15 to 30 mph winds.

Temperatures will keep warming up for the late work week, with sunshine and light winds through Thursday.
