Storm moves out tonight, warmer weather returns starting Wednesday

A storm system will continue to bring rain and snow to parts of New Mexico through Tuesday evening. Warmer and drier weather returns starting Wednesday.

A low pressure system continues to bring rain, snow and cooler temperatures across parts of New Mexico Tuesday evening. The heaviest of the rain will stay out near the Texas state line, with rain and snow beginning to end this evening. Drier air will return to the state overnight.

Wednesday begins a warming and drying trend across New Mexico. A ridge of high pressure will start building over the state, starting a warming trend that will last into the weekend for some. High temperatures return to normal for this time of year by Wednesday afternoon with Friday being one of the warmest days many have seen so far this year. Albuquerque is forecast to see its first 80° day of the year Friday afternoon. Winds do pick up though on Friday, with widespread wind gusts over 30 mph. It will be slightly breezy through the weekend with sunny skies and, for some, even warmer temperatures.

A storm will scrape the state next Monday, bringing a few spotty rain showers and light mountain snow mainly to western and northern New Mexico. Winds will be a bigger story for much of the state on Monday. Temperatures will stay warm though despite the scraping storm system early next week.
