Study ranks best and worst states for retirement, see where New Mexico ranks

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Many people decide to move after retirement and deciding where to live is a major decision. To help people retire to a place they enjoy, WalletHub recently released a study that ranked the best and worst states for retirement in 2024.

The study ranks all 50 states across 46 key metrics including; affordability, quality of life and healthcare. New Mexico ranks near the middle of the pack, ranking at 31st overall on the WalletHub study. New Mexico comes in at 20th in affordability, 45th in quality of life and 35th in healthcare. New Mexico ranked among the three states with the highest property-crime rate and fewest theaters per capita.
