TangoMe, the Silicon Valley company that operates the Tango live streaming platform with over 450 million registered users from 190 countries, has entered the Romanian market with an office in Bucharest. The company has raised $370 million in five rounds of funding.
The company currently has over 350 employees globally, five offices worldwide (Dubai, Kiev, Limassol, Warsaw, Bucharest and Tel Aviv) and annual revenues of $260 million. In Romania, Tangome is currently recruiting IT specialists for full-time positions such as General QA Engineer, Senior Android Developer, Senior Automation QA Engineer, Senior IOS Engineer, Senior Java Developer and Senior Web Developer. TangoMe Romania is managed by Uri Raz, a serial entrepreneur from Israel. He also founded AppStream, which he sold to Symantec, the world’s largest security software maker at the time (2008), and Dyyno.
The company was founded in September 2009 by Uri Raz (CEO) and Eric Setton (CTO). Two years after its founding, in 2011, Ukrainian-born billionaire Len Blavatnik, owner of Warner Music Group, invested $40 million in Tango through his Access Industries group.
Then, in 2014, Alibaba invested $215 million in TangoMe, part of a larger $280 million round, with the difference coming from Tango’s previous investors, which include Access Industries, Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Jerry Yang, co-founder of Yahoo Inc.
