Meal kit subscriptions have become part of the mainstream as home cooks, often seduced by big discounts, outsourced the decision about what to eat for dinner that night. They boomed in the pandemic but now big names like HelloFresh have seen a plunge in customer numbers as the cost of living crisis forces cutbacks.
