National Weather Service officials are expecting thunderstorms with a possibility of being severe Tuesday morning in portions of Chicago later Tuesday morning and before noon.
Current conditions at O’Hare International Airport are overcast at 55 degrees, and at Midway Airport conditions are the same at 56 degrees, officials said.
In portions of north central and northeast Illinois, and northwest Indiana, officials are expecting a few strong to severe thunderstorms between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The storm was moving northeast at 40 mph, officials said.
Temperatures are expected in the low 50s before falling to the low 40s later in the day. There is an 80% chance of rain throughout the day.
