Two Worlds presents 2nd Annual Native American Theater Festival

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Reclaiming their identity through the arts is what Two Worlds Native American and Performing Arts Group aims to do with the annual Native American Theater Festival.

The festival runs from April 25 to May 5 and is being held at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. This year’s featured play is: “Beauty Way: Into the Matriarchy.” This play will be performed a total of five times as the centerpiece of the festival. It also features the narratives, experiences, and cultural history of matriarchal native indigenous and Chicana women. Narrated by Spider Woman, a traditional Navajo deity; she unwebs the stories of these women who come up against everyday personal struggles, self-identity, and inequality in the world.

The next time to view the play is May 3 and May 4 at 7:30 p.m.
