UNTOLD music festival is preparing to open its doors to the magical universe from August 8-11 to hundreds of thousands of fans from around the world, with the lineup including top global DJs: Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Martin Garrix, Alok, Timmy Trumpet, Lost Frequencies, Purple Disco Machine.Disco Machine.
Underground culture has its stage in the UNTOLD universe, and in 2024, the Galaxy stage will be a real phenomenon thanks to the most famous techno DJs, confirmed for the 9th edition of the UNTOLD festival: Carl Cox, Solomun and the Australian FISHER.
The duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike returns to the main stage of the UNTOLD festival. In 2024, the duo rose to number 2 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs, and for the 10th year in a row they were awarded the trophy in the Highest Duo category. Their unique live shows turned them into global stars, and the two headlined the world’s biggest festivals. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are also known for memorable productions such as “The Hum”, a single awarded with the Platinum Disc or “Higher Place”, the collaboration with Ne-Yo which brought them the 1st place in the Billboard Dance Chart.
DJ Mag Top 100 DJ Martin Garrix returns to the main stage at UNTOLD. Garrix has worked with the biggest mainstream artists, from Dua Lipa, Usher, Bonn or U2, and is the second Dutchman in the history of electronic music to hold the number 1 spot in the Top 100 DJs four times.
Alok, the DJ who ranks 4th in the official DJ Mag Top 100 ranking, managed to deliver specially prepared shows for festival fans at every live appearance on the UNTOLD mainstage. He is considered to be the greatest Brazilian DJ and producer of all time. Alok was officially named “the most followed electronic music artist” on Instagram, hosted the biggest livestream, and is #1 globally on Twitter.
Lost Frequencies, one of the most charismatic artists in electronic music is one of the beautiful surprises offered by the creators of UNTOLD for the 9th edition of the festival. The Belgian has 10 platinum singles, over 23 million monthly listens and over 1 billion streams on the Spotify platform. The collaboration with the British Calum Scott for the single “Where Are You Now”, released exclusively at the UNTOLD festival, brought him a nomination in the “Best International Song” category at the BRIT Awards.
Timothy Jude Smith probably means nothing, but Timmy Trumpet means madness on the Mainstage. He is the only DJ in the world who played music for 22 seconds in a state of weightlessness, zero gravity, he literally floated, in a program held with the European Space Agency and the Germans from BigCityBeat. He’s a guy with unreal energy and that’s why he kept experimenting, until 2001 when he discovered the ideal combination: DJing and the trumpet.
The German Purple Disco Machine, awarded with a Grammy award in the “Best remix version” category for the single signed by Lizzo, “About Damn Time”, will arrive at the Cluj-Arena for the first time. He is considered the architect of the disco sound, he is the producer who combined the nostalgia of the 70s with the current sound of electronic music in his songs. The German’s songs are broadcast on radios all over the world, many of them took the 1st place in the European Airplay Chart: “Hypnotized”, “Fireworks”, “Dopamine”, “In The Dark” and “Substitution”.
The new wave of underground artists
Many times considered the best DJ in the world, a title awarded by the community of dance culture fans, but also by the prestigious specialized publications, DJ Mag or Mixmag, Carl Cox was part of the dance school in Great Britain, from the beginning of the disco era, to date. He experimented with everything from breakbeat, disco, hip-hop, Italian house to hard techno.
Known as a true pioneer of electronic music and an ambassador of the techno scene globally, Carl Cox is a complete artist who has contributed to the development of the techno and house genres. His versatile approach to the techno sound has placed him on the short list of the most respected artists in the electronic music industry. Productions like “I Want You (Forever)”, “Phoebus Apollo” or “The Player” have become “anthems” in the underground culture.
Paul Nicholas Fisher, known by the stage name FISHER, the Australian DJ and producer who managed to conquer the electronic music scene with a unique and fresh sound, will arrive at the UNTOLD festival for the first time.
FISHER’s distinctive style, combined with his charismatic presence, have made him a favorite of major clubs and festivals around the world. “Losing It” was an international success, was certified Gold and Platinum for record sales, was nominated for a Grammy Award for “Best Dance Recording”, and received praise for its innovative sound.
He is one of the most acclaimed artists of the melodic house & techno genre, his name is Solomun and he is the DJ who had a spectacular 3-hour live at the Galaxy Stage during the anniversary edition of UNTOLD festival, 2019 edition. He was awarded in DJ Awards in the categories “Best Producer”, “Best DJ”, “Best Melodic House DJ”, and the readers of Mixmag magazine voted him “DJ of The Year”.
From March 25, subscription prices for the 2024 edition of the UNTOLD festival will increase, those who opt for general access for 4 days will pay 159 Euros plus taxes.
