Vampire Dormitory episode 1 starts with Mito being fired from his job for being too pretty, which causes many problems in his cafe. Now, with no way to go, he wanders searching for another job with only 12 yen left in his pocket. The episode then goes on to reveal his tragic past following his parents’ death.
His worries lead him to the LA FRAISE cafe, where he mistakenly injures himself while picking up a smashed vase. He is then taken to the back by one of the workers, Ruka, who licks his bloodied finger. Ruka screams, expressing his utter disgust for Mito’s blood, which makes Mito angry and wonder why he licked it in the first place. Meanwhile, Ruka is confronted by his mentor, who informs him that male blood is only sweet when they’ve experienced love.
Elsewhere, Mito wanders in the rain before arriving at a bridge and attempting to jump off. He changes his mind but slips off; however, he is saved by Ruka, who appears and sucks his blood. Ruka offers him to be his vampire thrall and whisks him away to his room.
Mito accepts his offer as the chance of being needed by someone assures him. Ruka promises to love him; all he has to do is accept his love. The episode ends by revealing that Ruka is a girl in disguise.
