PECOS, N.M. (KRQE) – The Village of Pecos is hosting a Fishing Derby event on June 1, 2024 at Monastery Lake. The day will be full of fishing and activities for people of all ages to enjoy.
Running from 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. the lake will be freshly stocked and ready for the people to of all ages to cast their lines and catch some fish. The event also features other activities for people to enjoy. There will be community booths, outdoor recreations activities, games, prizes and food trucks. “We are excited to host this Fishing Derby as a way to bring our community together and celebrate the natural assets of Pecos,” Mayor Telesfor ‘Ted’ Benavidez said.
