Walmart recalls over 50K Mainstays Electric Mini Choppers

(WKBN) – Walmart is recalling over 50,000 mini food choppers sold exclusively at its stores over a danger of lacerations.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that the recall involves about 51,750 Mainstays Electric Mini Choppers whose blade “can operate unexpectedly” while the product is being assembled or when the blade is not inside the chopper container.

The cordless and rechargeable choppers, which have the model number MS14100094536S1, have a green lid, a white body and a clear plastic bowl. A blade attachment with three curved blades on a plastic spindle is included.

The Commission says Walmart has received five laceration reports, two of which resulted in medical attention, including stitches. Injuries occurred during assembly or when cleaning or handling the product.

The product was sold at Walmart stores nationwide and online at Walmart.com from August 2022 through October 2023.

Consumers are urged to stop using the affected choppers immediately and contact Walmart for a full refund. Consumers can also take the chopper to their nearest Walmart store for a refund.
