There’s no need to keep score when it comes to this Drake and Rick Ross beef. The Miami rapper is naturally funny and learned a lot from his time battling the likes of 50 Cent back in 2009. Not only did he respond to Drake’s “Push Ups” diss song in record time, he was nice enough to give us a video to “Champagne Moments” while simultaneously promoting other ventures.
The visuals are simple: Ross can be seen sitting on a stool in the middle of what looks like an airplane hangar with his liquor brands and a flyer for his upcoming car show next to him. He has an old-school Chevy Bel Air in the back, clearly a reference to when he asked Drake if he “had an old-school Chevy, white boy” on Instagram Stories.
It may just be as impossible for Ross to lose this battle as it is for him to win it. He’s too funny, too memeable, and is clearly ready for war at a moment’s notice. The biggest boss that we’ve seen thus far is just hanging out on his estate, blowing kisses and trolling Drake. We weren’t even expecting a video for this track. Ross is savvy, though, and took a page out of 50’s book and used this opportunity to run the streams up and to let the world know is car show is coming up.
There’s something about Ross handling this whole thing so calmly. Even as he sits on a stool in the middle of the garage, he’s able exude wicked luxury. Like, damn, I suddenly have a taste for top-shelf blunts and champagne.
Let’s see if Drake gives us a video for his diss track.
