The modern C-drama Will Love in Spring released episode 17 on April 30, 2024. It features Li Xian and Zhou Yutong in the lead roles. The episode focuses on Mai Dong (Li Xian) visiting Zhuang Jie’s house (Zhou Yutong). Zhuang Jie asks Mai Dong to come back to her apartment. He accedes, only to find her asleep on her bed. The next morning, she is surprised to see Mai Dong lying next to her. Zhuang Jie receives a call from her sister, who informs her about her mother being angry. While leaving the bed, Mai Dong helps her put on her prosthetic leg. Zhuang hesitates at first, but Mai Dong persists. It pleases her to see that Mai Dong is putting in effort.
Zhuang Jie is able to calm down her mother with the help of her friend, Xixia. They catch up over coffee. Xixia informs her that she is ready to settle down with her boyfriend. Although the future is uncertain, she wants to take one step at a time. Contrary to her belief, Zhuang Jie will not settle until she is content with her life. Furthermore, the two friends discuss ways to further their careers.
Zhuang Jie comes to help Grandma Chen with spring cleaning. As Mai Dong drops her off at home, she forces him to come in. Meanwhile, Mrs. Zhuang comes home and is annoyed to see Mai Dong. But she forces a smile and engages in chit-chat with him. On New Year, which is also Zhuang Jie’s birthday, Mai Dong cooks a hearty meal for Zhuang Jie’s family. Mrs. Zhuang eventually starts to open up to him and accepts him as her daughter’s partner. Meanwhile, Mai Dong receives a distressed call and leaves early.

Zhuang Jie hears the tragic news about an accident that took several lives. She gets worried about Mai Dong’s safety. Mai Dong has been having nightmares as a result of dealing with so many deaths. Zhuang Jie visits him to cheer him up. He tells her about his anxiety. Zhuang Jie promises to plan something for Valentine’s Day to make him feel better.
As if he is not already anxious enough, Mai Dong receives another sad piece of news about Grandma Lin. But he keeps the news to himself, as the old woman did not want anyone else to know. Zhuang Jie surprises him with flowers on Valentine’s Day.
She can see that Mai Dong is stressed for some reason, but he does not want to reveal it. Mai Dong acts unusual and emotional. He embraces Zhuang Jie and starts to open up. He tells her that he has become a lot more sensitive since meeting her. Earlier, he was not afraid of anything, but now he is afraid of dying alone.
He finally gives her the news about Grandma Lin. They also share some intimate moments. Mai Dong is initially worried that Zhuang Jie will push him away like she did last time. But Zhuang Jie has learned to completely trust him.
