ABQ BioPark announces Western lowland gorilla is pregnant

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A new addition is coming to the ABQ BioPark Zoo. The BioPark revealed Nia Lewa, its 21-year-old Western lowland gorilla, is pregnant with her first child. The BioPark has had several birth and pregnancy announcements in the last few months including Rosie the elephant due at the end of the year or early next year, and Zoe the chimpanzee who is due very soon.


Applications for Albuquerque FBI’s Teen Academy now open

A baby kangaroo was first spotted in January as well. Nia is expected to give birth in July.
