488 de câini din rasa Golden Retriever s-au adunat în Scoția, în locul unde au fost crescuți pentru prima dată în urmă cu 155 de ani

Sute de câini Golden Retriever, și stăpânii lor, s-au adunat în urmă cu câteva zile în regiunea scoțiană Highlands, loc ce reprezintă căminul ancestral al celebrei rase, scriu The New York Post și BBC.

Pe 13 iulie, nu mai puțin de 488 de câini au fost aduși pe peluza din fața ruinelor Casei Guisachan pentru a face o fotografie de grup la Guisachan Gathering 2023, un fel de convenție a golden retrieverilor. Aceasta a fost cea mai mare convenție a rasei din istorie.

Câini din țări precum Australia, Japonia și America de Nord, dar și din Europa și Regatul Unit, au făcut acest pelerinaj împreună cu stăpânii lor în locul în care în urmă cu 155 de ani s-au născut și au fost crescuți primii căței din această rasă de către aristocratul Sir Dudley Marjoribanks.

Punctul culminant al evenimentului de săptămâna trecută a fost o procesiune de câini, desfășurată joi pe un traseu de 1,5 kilometri și condusă de un scoțian care cânta la cimpoi. Procesiunea a culminat cu o interpretare la cimpoi a melodiei “500 Miles” a celor de la The Proclaimers.

Evenimentul a fost pus la cale de Golden Retriever Club of Scotland, care organizează câte o întâlnire la conac o dată la cinci ani.

Evenimentul de săptămâna trecută a fost mai mare decât cel precedent, care a sărbătorit cea de-a 150-a aniversare a rasei, în 2018.

Marjoribanks a crescut pentru prima dată câinii pe moșia sa, în încercarea de a crea câinele de vânătoare ideal pentru particularitățile terenului din Highland.

În 1868, aristocratul a împerecheat un Retriever Wavy Coated auriu, numit Nous, cu un Tweed Water Spaniel, numit Belle, potrivit American Kennel Club.

Puii lor – Crocus, Cowslip și Primsose – sunt considerați primii Golden Retriever din care descinde rasa de astăzi.

Golden Retrieverii au fost recunoscuți pentru prima dată de Kennel Club în 1913.
