Albuquerque bowler wins PBA Major Title

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – DeeRonn Booker is the Manager at Santa Ana Star Casinos Starlight Bowling Center, and the 33-year old bowler accomplished a major feat in the sport in Sunday in Las Vegas, NV. Just a full-time professional bowler two seasons, Booker won this years USBC Masters, which is 1 of 5 events considered to be major events in bowling.

This marks Bookers 1st PBA victory in what was his first TV appearance. Booker was asked after the win if he ever saw himself winning at this level.

“I am here now and I am not going anywhere. I hope you guys can see me,” said DeeRonn Booker in Las Vegas.

Booker was undefeated in this grueling tournament. Making it through the 64-player bracket, Booker knocked out 4 PBA Tour Champions. With this win Booker is the 3rd African American to win a PBA Tour title.

“What this does is just inspires me to keep inspiring others to do this, to get here, to be here. So, when I get back home you guys at Santa Ana Star Casino come and see me. Let’s do this together,” said Booker.
