Amber Alert issued for Albuquerque 10-year-old

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) –  New Mexico State Police has issued an Amber Alert for 10-year-old Carlos Hernandez. Police say he was abducted by his non-custodial mother Angelique Sanchez, 39, and was last seen around 1 p.m. Monday at 1041 Lamberton Place NE in Albuquerque.

According to NMSP, they were last seen traveling in a white Hyundai Sonata with a New Mexico license plate of BSJZ56. Carlos is 4-foot-5, 60 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. Angelique is 5-foot-3. They say Angelique is 5-foot-3, 150 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

NMSP spotted Carlos with Angelique Monday, at around 12:30 p.m. at New Mexico Human Services. However, as officers attempted to contact Angelique she fled the area in the Sonata with Carlos inside the vehicle. They say she rammed into an NMSP patrol vehicle while fleeing the scene and was last seen driving the wrong way on Menaul. NMSP did not initiate a pursuit because Carlos was in the vehicle.
