“More than 70 percent of accountants prefer the hybrid work environment. Just as many employers want their people in the office. I think that what motivates employers to prefer this way of working is first the fear of not being able to monitor the performance of their teams, of not being able to include them in an organizational culture.
Many of them do not have this flexibility included in the mode of operation, to quickly change from a large structure with office spaces to remote work,” Andreia Stanciu, Head of ACCA South-Eastern Europe (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) said during HR Conference | Elevating Work powered by The Diplomat-Bucharest.
“Everyone will want a little flexibility, and employers will accept that. Most employees feel more productive at home, but say they miss collaborating with colleagues.
We can continue to invest in the training of managers, we can teach them to communicate better, to manage long-distance relationships within teams.
Leadership is much more important now in the context of economic uncertainty, with major changes in the way we organize our work. So, leadership sets this budget of results, so to speak. Everything is constantly changing, and change is the new reality, change is the new constant.”
Andreia Stanciu is heading the Southern European office of the largest and fastest growing international business and accountancy association. She established the office in March 2006, in Bucharest and is now responsible for ACCA’s activities in Albania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, FYR Macedonia, Malta, Moldova and Romania.
Her previous position was with the Body of Expert and Licensed Accountants of Romania, as Manager of the International Relations Department. She has eleven years of academic accounting training and close to 25 years work experience with professional accountancy bodies at national, regional and international level. She is a Project Management Professional, PhD in accounting and holds an MSC in Marketing.
