Telugu actress Anjali’s latest comedy-horror drama, Geethanjali Malli Vachindi, made its theatrical debut on April 11, 2024. This film holds special significance for Anjali as it marks her 50th film and is a sequel to the decade-old movie Geethanjali. Despite initial buzz, the film received mixed reviews during its theatrical run and struggled to significantly impact the box office. However, the Telugu OTT giant has recently confirmed that the movie will make its digital debut soon.

Notably, Anjali earned the prestigious Nandi Award for Best Actress for her performance in the prequel when it was released in 2014. Directed by debutant Shiva Turlapati, the film is a joint production effort by MVV Cinema and Kona Film Corporation.
The storyline revolves around a film crew’s encounter with spirits while shooting in a haunted mansion. This leads to a series of supernatural events and their attempt to escape the haunting.

Almost a month after its theatrical run, “Geethanjali Malli Vachindi” is set to make its digital debut. Aha Video recently announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the film is scheduled for its OTT premiere on May 8. Those who missed its theatrical run can now enjoy it from their home comfort.
In addition, there are reports from NDTV suggesting that the movie will also premiere on Amazon Prime Video. However, the platform has not officially confirmed this information yet.
In other news, Anjali is currently preparing for her upcoming film, Gangs of Godavari, in which she stars alongside Vishwak Sen. Penned and directed by Krishna Chaitanya, the film also features Neha Shetty and Nassar in pivotal roles. Additionally, the actress will play a significant role in Ram Charan’s Game Changer.
With the release date approaching, seeing how the audience responds to the film’s OTT release will be interesting.
