APD: Man arrested for deadly stabbing in SE ABQ

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Police Department (APD) said they arrested a suspect for a deadly stabbing. The original incident happened on April 7, 2024.

According to APD, Luis Romero was stabbed and killed in early April. They believed Juan Carlos Garcia was involved, and the stabbing may have been a confrontation over debt.

Authorities think Romero was stabbed at a home in the 12000 block of Dorado Dr, SE, and was dropped off at the hospital and passed away. Three people were detained but then released.

Garcia, 24, was arrested on an open count of murder warrant on Sunday. He is also a suspect in a September 15, 2023, shooting.
