The highly anticipated Eid releases, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan, have apparently altered their release plans. This decision was taken just two days before the actual release date. Both the films were originally slated for a full-fledged release on Wednesday, April 10. However, both films have opted for a unique strategy by scheduling paid previews instead.
This strategic move by the makers of both films has generated significant curiosity and discussion within the industry. The speculation is more as this decision deviates from the conventional release pattern. By opting for paid previews, the films aim to build excitement and draw in audiences with an exclusive early screening experience.
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan & Maidaan to have paid previews
According to Bollywood Hungama, the decision to switch to paid previews was communicated just days before the initial release date. The message instructed theaters to commence the shows of Maidaan from 6:00 PM onwards. Similarly, the makers of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan followed suit. This sudden shift prompted theaters to stop bookings for all shows scheduled before the designated time.
The decision proves to be a well thought move by the makers of both the films. As Eid falls on Thursday, April 11, April 10 is a working day. Starting shows from 6:00 PM onwards makes sense. It ensures that the Eid holiday serves as the first day for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan.
An official from a multiplex, spoke on condition of anonymity. He revealed, “Just sometime back, we got a message stating that Maidaan’s shows should begin from 6:00 PM on Wednesday. We have been asked to not play any shows before the said time and that bookings of all shows before 6:00 PM should be immediately stopped. Later, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’s makers also made the same request. We’ll now refund money to all those who booked the pre-6:00 PM shows of these films on April 10.”
With the revised release plans unveiled, fans eagerly await the opportunity to witness the hype of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan on the big screen.
