Black Butler: Public School Arc episode 3 recap: Ciel Phantomhive exposes Maurice Cole
Black Butler: Public School Arc episode 3, “His Butler, Plotting,” begins with a moment of shared fraternity between McMillan and Ciel. McMillan enters Ciel’s room at night to discuss what went wrong with the Prefects. Ciel explains the situation to him, which leads McMillan to promise that he has got Ciel’s back.
Later, the episode shows Prince Soma’s grand entry to Weston College, thereby embarrassing Ciel. Although Ciel tries to avoid him, Soma acts rather clingy. Ciel eventually fills Soma in on the plan to expose Maurice Cole, which Soma takes seriously.
To get intel on Cole, Soma pesters him to talk to Ciel. Subsequently, Soma finds out Cole’s secret and shares it with Ciel and Sebastian. Finally, Ciel’s moment to corner Cole arrives, and he confronts the drudge about his malpractice at the academy.
However, Cole, with the help of his apprentices, bullies Ciel. Fortunately, Ciel had it all planned out and fixed wires from the room to where the Swan Gazebo was. Hence, the Prefects show up to save the protagonist, and Redmond banishes Cole from being his drudge.
The episode ends on a good note for Ciel as he becomes Clayton’s drudge and earns the Prefects’ respect.
